A New Plot
An Introduction
Details
Saturday 22nd November 10am-1pm Want a peak behind the scenes? A new class and a unique opportunity not to be missed or repeated! Many of you have come and heard how I began growing on these plots back in 2016. How I started double digging beds and using turn cutters. Then I imported tonnes of compost. How I used to compost in pallet bins and turn the heaps. Now I grow 'naturally'. I make compost without turning in just 6 months. I no longer buy any compost, mulch or soil. I don't need to. And I am not making anything like the amount of compost I used to. Growing is cheaper, easier and takes a lot less time and attention. I am developing a new growing space, a few mins walk from the walled garden. I have just begun the process of preparing, planning and creating this space utilising all I have learnt over the last 10 years of growing flowers. Join me this saturday to come and see for yourself. Growing flowers and gardening doesn't need to cost anything. It doesn't have to be hard work. And you can cut buckets and buckets of flowers (and harvest veg and fruit!) A unique opportunity to see how to do this yourself, in real time as I am deep in development! What : An introduction class in how to plan, prepare and plant a new growing space. This is a practical session. There will be plants and dahlias to take home and some of my compost starter to make your own. When: Saturday 22nd November 10-1pm Where : Starting in the walled garden with coffee and cake, and walking to the new plot together for the session. Finishing in the walled garden with soup together. Who is it for : Anyone interested in learning about starting to grow cut flowers, especially if you have a new allotment or growing space that needs renovating or thinking about starting a flower growing enterprise. Everyone who is interested in low maintenance, resilient growing without having to buy or even make lots of compost! Become more connected with your space rather than overwhelmed! Price - £65 This month I am clearing all the beds, planting shrubs and trees and lifting, dividing perennials to create new stock beds and work in a different way to growing than we have done in the walled garden. This is the way to grow to mitigate for extreme weathers, low time and effort but still creating lots of beauty and flowers to cut!
