June 1st is the Astronomical beginning of Summer, whilst the 21st is both the longest day and the shortest night, marking the Meteorological start to Summer. With bitter sweetness, the hottest season only feels even shorter, by having Midsummer’s Day on the 24th June! It is the glorious month of warm, lit, long summer days. The garden is bountiful, and the grass is long.
