About the Farm & What's On

Anna's Flower Farm is where I write, teach, consult and host throughout the year growing and arranging flowers.

The farm is hidden within the historic Audley End Village and Estate in Saffron Walden (not to be confused with the English Heritage House of the same name). Founded in our back garden with a plant stall in the village back in 2015, Anna's Flower Farm is now made up of 3 plots, 'Walled Garden, Braybrooke Garden and the Field' together with a polytunnel all set around a studio and outdoor kitchen area on 0.4 acres.

It is a micro flower farm but with nearly 300 linear metres of productive beds plus other permanent borders, I grow a large range of stems across the year and sell flowers between April and October.

The gardens are open by appointment only.  You can book a visit for classes, experiences, open days or hire our space privately to experience this special place for yourself.

I believe in a holistic approach to gardening and growing flowers. Everything around us is interconnected and I continue with this in mind in how I care for the soil, wildlife, bees and chickens.  This place is a thriving biodiversity where good natural health is championed, resulting in vibrant strong stems of flowers and foliage, and a unique uplifting atmosphere of the space.

There is always something to eat and drink here - eating together is an important part of the experience and where we can reinforce the importance of seasonality, purpose, place and time by sharing food and drink in these beautiful gardens.

Year Long Course

Grow Your Own Cut Flowers

Central to everything we do on the plots is our year long course, 'Grow Your Own Cut Flowers'. We meet at pivotal points in the growing year to cover all the practical tasks and planning for growing flowers and whatever that means for you, in your space.  We are now in our 7th year of running it and welcomed gardeners, hobby florists, florists, flower farmers, allotmenteers and many more.

Open Gate

Come and see the plots for yourself by booking on to an 'Open Gate' event.  Spend a couple of hours in the gardens, a Tour from Anna and plenty of time for Questions and Answers.  There are usually plants for sale and order flowers to take home.

Calendar not fixed for 2024 as yet. Subscribe for notification of the next date.

Mentoring & Consultancy

I offer private mentoring and consultancy to home gardeners, businesses, educational institutions, flower farmers and florists.  Using over 20 years of experience in garden design, planting, planning and project management, I consult in person on the plots, via zoom, come to your home or site. I specialise in creative solutions for events, experiences, planning, project managing and design. Helping you utilise your own resources and skills to create what you want to do.

This can be a one off session in the studio and gardens, across the year or on zoom.

Year Round

Hire

The Studio and plots can be hired for private events, gatherings and tours. The space and facilities are perfect for corporate away days.  Other creatives, florists and artists use the space for photo shoots and workshop space for their own teaching.
