Who is it for?
Do you have gaps in your borders? Wanting to make cutting beds? Confused by packets of seeds and when to best sow them? This course is an opportunity to immerse yourself in flowers for the year. You'll learn how to create a confident connection with your own growing space with the knowledge and resources to plan a year of cut flowers.
What do we do?
Fundamentally, I teach and share how to view your growing in a holistic practical way, working with your soils, the weather and seasons, by developing your intuition and observation.
By returning to the plots across the year, we will practically grow plants in every stage of their lifespan and truly learn the requirements in real time. We'll grow together, taking plants 'started' on a session back to your growing space.
Each session will include demonstrations and practical tasks covering all the techniques to grow your own cut flowers and plant. From sowing seeds and taking cuttings through to planning your growing, completely tailored for your space, resources and requirements and finishing with cutting and conditioning flowers of that season.
For the professional florist and grower, you might want to join the 'Grow cut flowers for sale'.

What knowledge or experience do I need to have?
None! In fact it could be better because there can be a lot of 'unlearning' for a traditional gardener (I was one!).
There is a lot to learn regardless of your experience - I teach the absolute fundamentals to ensure nothing is missed out. These are what matters and creates the foundations for the ultimate success of your growing and confidence.
What happens after the course?
Participants return to the plots in many ways:
Seasonal Alumni dates, classes and talks, including the new final date on the course, the annual alumni summer party.
For professional mentoring and development as florists and farmers
Working on the plots for continued professional development
As collaborators
To buy our flowers to supplement their own
For classes, talks and courses for further learning and interest
What is the investment?
The course costs £850 and is payable either in full or seven monthly payments of £125.
